So you’re interested in becoming a Canberra Seed Savers member? You’re in the right place! CSS is not-for-profit and completely volunteer and member driven cooperative. Our work to spread knowledge and joy of seed saving depends on the passion and involvement of our local community and people just like you!

🌱🌱 How it works
Membership is annual and your membership will be valid for one year from the end of the month in which you join. For example, if you join on 10 September 2025 for one year, your membership is valid until 30 September 2026.
Membership fees are: waged $10/year; unwaged/student $5/year. There is also a 3 year option for $30 waged or $15 unwaged/student – this can be great if you already know you want to be involved/support long term, less paperwork for everyone!
Once your membership application is received, we’ll send you bank account details for direct deposit. Membership applications will be considered by the Cooperative Board and new members will receive a welcome email including your membership number. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THIS EMAIL IN YOUR JUNK MAIL!

🌱🌱 Participation
As a member, you are invited to be part of regular members’ meetings and strategy sessions to help determine the future of the Co-op and be part of the collective, cooperative decision making. You can also check out our Get Involved page for information on how to volunteer. Members can nominate for vacant board positions and are able to volunteer in various projects. You might even want to start a seedy project!

Membership means that each year you get access to 3 free packets of seed from our local Living Seed Bank. You also get free entry to any workshops and events we run! PLUS the biggest benefit – being part of a thriving and passionate local food and gardening community.
